Charting one’s life journey to becoming a rightful citizen of a country whose builder and architect is God

(meditations on Heb 11)
Experience required

·     A walk of Faith

Having Faith (being sure and certain of things hope but not yet seen) that
·       God is
·       To understand God is the Creator of all

Relation with God by Faith
·       God is to be worshipped in spirit with all heart, mind and soul
·       God accepts only true worship
·       God is righteous and hates ungodliness
·       God warns of punishment through things not seen and provide way of escape to those who fear God

The call of God
·       God calls to go to a place he would give later as an inheritance even without knowing where
·       To make home in a foreign country and live in tents
·       To look forward to the CITY with foundations whose architect and builder is God

Walk in Faith
·       Nothing is impossible with God
·       To live in faith till death
·       To see and welcome things hope for in a distance even when not realized in their own lifetime

Walking by Faith on earth
·       To admit being aliens and strangers on earth
·       To show that they are looking for a country of their own
·       To not thinking of the country left behind and not taking the opportunity to return
·       To looking rather for a better country – a heavenly one

God’s relationship with them
·       God not ashamed to be called their God
·       God prepared a city for them

Their attitude towards God
·       Readiness to offer even the most precious (and graciously receiving it back from God)
·       To worship learning on the top of a staff

Preparing the coming generation
·       To bless the future generation
·       To foresee and act upon the future (even if there would be a gap of many years – e.g. Joseph – 400 years)

Faith in Action
·       To see and act in faith and not to be afraid of the king’s edict
·       To refuse to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter
·       To choose to be mistreated along the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time
·       To see the disgrace of Christ as greater value than the treasures of Egypt because of looking forward to reward
·       Not to fear the king’s anger but to preserve because of seeing the Invisible One
·       To pass through the Red Sea by faith and walk on dry land
·       To march around in faith around the walls of Jericho till they fell
·       To act in faith and not to be killed with those who were disobedient

Power of Faith
·       To conquered kingdoms
·       To administered justice
·       To quench the fury of flames
·       To escape the edges of the sword
·        To turn their weaknesses to strengths
·       To become powerful in battles and rout he enemies
·       To receive back the dead and to see the death raise to life again

Choices by Faith
·       To be tortured and yet refusing to be released as waiting to gain a better resurrection
·       To face jeers and floggings
·       To be chained and put to prisons
·       To be stoned
·       To be sawed into two
·       To be put to death by sword
·       To go about in sheepskins and goatskins
·       To be destitute, persecuted and mistreated
·       To wander in deserts and mountains and in caves and holes in the ground
·       Not to receive as yet what had been promised

In God’s eyes
·       The world not worthy of them
·       God had planned something better – together – to be made perfect
