farewell to a minister

Dear Brother Mansang,

I suppose Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 is there for us to prepare us and be comforted for a time such as this as it has to come to everyone at one time or other. A time when when we pass on the batons! A time when new and young leaders take up positions and responsibilities. A time as ordained by God. So in such a moment as this – I believe the best attitude to have is an attitude of celebrations as we accept the eventuality and the unavoidable and the reality.
So we celebrate – in your last month in NEICORD – of the good years you gave to it and the good works you brought into and the good shape of the baton you are passing it on!  I wish to celebrate here  of a person who had a good career in the government (was ithe District Library then?) but left it to the call to be a minister and then found out as a minister called back to be in a ministry outside the mainline church (while being truly part of the church) and be a leader in the church in the market place (as it were).  I salute such a minister and praise God for such a calling for a highly demanded minister to be in the not so well-respected NGO area!
Thank you for all that you have done. A good friend of mine once said – when I die I wished the widows will cry over my dead body – well today you have so many people especially widows – belonging to people living with AIDS – who will remember you throughout their life. I am sure you would be one of those who in heaven would get the applause of "well done". We echo that heavenly applause today.

Warmest regards,

Langkham

Dear friends in His vineyard,

I am very pleased to let you know that the Board of NEICORD had graciously agreed to release me from my service by the end of October, 2013. I would therefore, be leaving the Executive Director position and hand over the charge to the new Executive Director or to the Chairperson of the board on 31st of October 2013. I have enjoyed my journey here and I sincerely appreciate having had the chance and privilege of working with you.

I have enjoyed working here with a team of young, dynamic and committed staff. I will greatly miss our daily interactions, devotions and working on different projects with each one of you. It is my desire and prayer that God would bring in a much better successor to bring the organization to a higher level.

Thank you all for the support and encouragement you have provided me during my time at NEICORD. I will cherish my journey through NEICORD with you all. I would appreciate your continued advice and prayer support as I start the next phase of my career.

I can be reached at my personal email address (mansangsongate@gmail.com) or via my cell phone: +919435102143.
