preparing my year planner for 2014

Cornelius, Peter and Me

Cornelius Captain of an Italian Regiment
He and his family - devout and God fearing
Giving generously to those in need
And praying to God regularly

He had a vision and distinctly saw an angel of God
Who called out his name 'Cornelius'
And told him his prayers and gifts came up before God as memorial offering
And instructed him to take further forwards steps in his relationship with God

Peter a fisherman turned disciple and later a leader
Up on the rooftop of a tanner's house, he prayed with an empty stomach and fell into a trance,
He was given a symbolic message to take steps beyond what he was comfortable to do
And he obeyed and proved that God shows no partiality and is no respecters of persons

Me, God's child, will I have prayer as a regular important item in my year planner for 2014?
Can my year plan include striving towards becoming a devout God fearing family?
What regular acts of mine might go up before God as my 'memorial offerings'?
Will I be obedient to the divine plan should that mean to step outside my own comfort zone?

farewell to a minister

Dear Brother Mansang,

I suppose Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 is there for us to prepare us and be comforted for a time such as this as it has to come to everyone at one time or other. A time when when we pass on the batons! A time when new and young leaders take up positions and responsibilities. A time as ordained by God. So in such a moment as this – I believe the best attitude to have is an attitude of celebrations as we accept the eventuality and the unavoidable and the reality.
So we celebrate – in your last month in NEICORD – of the good years you gave to it and the good works you brought into and the good shape of the baton you are passing it on!  I wish to celebrate here  of a person who had a good career in the government (was ithe District Library then?) but left it to the call to be a minister and then found out as a minister called back to be in a ministry outside the mainline church (while being truly part of the church) and be a leader in the church in the market place (as it were).  I salute such a minister and praise God for such a calling for a highly demanded minister to be in the not so well-respected NGO area!
Thank you for all that you have done. A good friend of mine once said – when I die I wished the widows will cry over my dead body – well today you have so many people especially widows – belonging to people living with AIDS – who will remember you throughout their life. I am sure you would be one of those who in heaven would get the applause of "well done". We echo that heavenly applause today.

Warmest regards,

Langkham

free translation of 2 fav songs

[05/08/13 9:01:27 PM] sam ngaihte: Lyrics:
Phuahtu: Suakliana(1901-1970)

Jerusalem Zion khawpui chu thlir teh u,
Let’s gaze upon Jerusalem, the City of Zion,
Aw mi an tam, beramno Lal lennan hmun a awm lo;
Oh in the large crowd, there is not any place for the Lamb King to dwell;
Aw lungngaihna leh lawmna Kalvari tlang a lo lang e.
Oh the sorrowful and the joyful Calvary mount can be seen.

Chorus:
Aw hnam zawng zawng leh chi tin tawng tin hi,
Oh of all the nations and all the tongues  (in the world)
Vanlal nau ang a tahna Kalvari ah an dang chuang lo ve;
No difference is there at Calvary where the King of heaven wept;
An dang chuang love chitin tawngtin hi
Yeah, no differences are there among nations and tongues
Vanlal nau ang a tahna Kalvari ah an dang chu,ang lo ve.
At Calvary where the King of Heaven cried – they have no difference.

2.
Jerusalem khawpui thar nuam chu thlir teh u,
Gaze upon/think of/consider the new city of Jerusalem,
Aw mi an tam beramno lal lenna hmun mawi ah chuan;
Oh there are so many in the beautiful land where the Lamb King reigns
Aw Kalvari ah Pathian khawngaihna dawn a tul mange.
The grace of God from Calvary –  oh, how we all need to receive !

3.
Haleluiah hrilthiam ila haleluiah,
Hallelujah, if one could only tell, Halleluijah,
Aw hmangaihna dai chuang ngailo nunna parmawi;
Oh His love that will never grow old - the beautiful bouquet of life
Sawithiam awm maw hrilh thiam awm tak ang maw Aw hmangaihna hi.
Would you ever find one who could speak and tell adequately of His love?

Second lyrics
1.
A hmangaihna a ka chawlhin ka Pan min hre tawh,
When I rest in His love my Father already knew me,
A duhzawng ka tih apiangin mal min sawm fo thin;
Whenever I do His will, He always blesses me;
Thahnemngaih nachang ka hriatin ka tan malsawmna,
When I learn how to persevere then it becomes my blessing
Lungngaiha inchhir avangin hmangaihna ka hmu.
As I sorrow over my sin I receive His grace

2.
A fa a ka awm hma pawh in ka Pa'n min hre tawh,
Even before I became His son, My Father already knew me
Thlaler hreawm a ka awmin a nin min veng zel:
When I was in a difficult desert he always protected me;
Tun thleng in min la hruai fova hlauhawm zingah pawh,
Even this day he always leaded me through all sorts of danger,
Lawmtakin keiin ka zui ang Zion tlang thlengin.
So I will follow Him gladly till the mount of Zion.

3.
Lalpa chawimawi turin in pe la khawvel ah hian,
Offer yourself to praise Him while still here on earth,
I sualna zawng zawng nen pan la a lo chhawk ang che:
Come to him with your load of sin He will relieve you;
I lawmna chu a chuai lovang Lalpa hma ah chuan,
Your joy will never grow old in the presence of the Lord
Lalpa chu fakin lo zai la Zion tlang thlengin.
Come singing praising the Lord till you reach mount Zion.
